Need
Some Help?

Please carry out the following checks carefully and thoroughly to avoid premature operational problems or possible damage, either of which could invalidate your warranty.

1. It is paramount you identify the cause of failure to the original turbocharger

and rectify it before fitting your replacement turbocharger.

2. Thoroughly check there is no foreign material in either the exhaust system

or air intake.  The smallest fragment can potentially cause serious damage

with the high operating speeds that modern turbochargers reach.

3. Check that the turbocharger centre, compressor housing and turbine

are correctly aligned before fitting. If the lock tabs, bolts or v-bands are loosened

to achieve this ensure all the mating flanges are correctly reseated

and when making final set connections that service manual torque settings are adhered to.

4. Recoturbo asks all the relevant air, oil and exhaust gaskets are replaced when the

turbocharger is fitted. Always use the correct new gaskets and never use sealing compounds at

any turbocharger oil connection.

5. The engine oil and filter should also be changed. Ensuring oil that is specifically designed for

turbocharged engines is used.

6. It is essential to check for any restriction resulting from oil carbonisation before connecting

the oil-feed hose. Then, using clean oil, fill the oil-inlet port to overflow.

7. Then crank the engine (without firing) until there is a steady flow of oil from the drain part

before connecting the oil drain hose.

8. Now let the engine run idle for a minimum of 3 minutes after installation.

This will prevent possible damage to the bearing system due to oil delay and will purge the

system of any residual contaminants. Your installation is now complete.
